These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Glowtype mobile app (“Glowtype”, “we”, “us”), operated by Clyden Rodrigues, trading as Vailanr Digital, based in the United Kingdom.
By installing or using Glowtype, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Glowtype is
Glowtype is a personal style assistant for iOS. After a short quiz and a selfie, the app generates a personalised seasonal color analysis — your color season, palette, suggested makeup shades, hairstyles, and skincare picks.
Glowtype is intended for personal entertainment and self-discovery. It is not professional styling, medical, or dermatological advice. Don't substitute it for guidance from a real stylist, dermatologist, or doctor.
2. Who can use Glowtype
You must be 18 or olderto use Glowtype. If you're under 18, please don't use the app — see our Privacy Policy for how we handle accidental contact from minors.
3. Your license to use Glowtype
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use Glowtype on iOS devices you own or control, for non-commercial personal use. You may not:
- Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its content
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Try to disrupt or compromise the service
- Resell access to Glowtype or its outputs as a paid service
This license is granted by us through the Apple App Store under Apple's standard EULA (which also applies — see Section 9).
4. Subscriptions and billing
Glowtype is free to download. Some features (“Premium”) require a paid subscription. We currently offer:
- Weekly subscription — auto-renews every week
- Annual subscription — auto-renews every year, with a 3-day free trial for first-time subscribers
Prices in your local currency are shown in the in-app paywall. Apple may adjust pricing for your region.
How billing works:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID on confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends
- Your account is charged the renewal price within 24 hours before the renewal period
- You can manage and cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone — cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep Premium access until the current period ends
- The free trial converts automatically to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends
- Free trials are only available to first-time subscribers; previous subscribers will be charged immediately
We don't process or store your payment details — Apple handles all transactions.
5. Refunds
Apple, not Glowtype, is the merchant of record for all in-app purchases. Refund requests must be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
We have no ability to issue refunds for App Store purchases. We will not refund the unused portion of a subscription period if you cancel mid-period, but you keep access until the period ends.
6. AI-generated content
Glowtype's analysis cards (color palette, hairstyles, makeup picks) are produced by AI based on your selfie and quiz answers. AI is imperfect and may occasionally:
- Suggest looks that don't match your preferences
- Misread features under poor lighting or low-quality photos
- Generate unexpected or unusable results
The output is offered as inspiration and entertainment, not as a guaranteed match. You're free to ignore suggestions you don't like.
If a generation fails (very rare), use the in-app retry button or contact us — we'll do our best to help.
7. Affiliate and product links
Glowtype includes product recommendations linked to Amazon via the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through these links — at no additional cost to you.
We try to recommend products we believe match your color profile, but we don't independently test every item. Use your own judgement, especially for skincare. Always read product reviews and check ingredient lists if you have allergies or sensitivities.
8. Your photo and content
You retain all rights to the selfie you upload. By using Glowtype, you grant us a limited, revocable license to process that photo solely for the purpose of generating your analysis. Your photo is not stored on our servers after analysis completes (see our Privacy Policy for full details).
The generated analysis cards are yours to keep, save, and share for personal use. The Glowtype watermark on shared cards must not be removed.
9. Apple App Store EULA
Glowtype is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies in addition to these Terms. Where the two conflict, the Apple EULA controls. Apple is not a party to these Terms and bears no responsibility for the app's content or your use of it.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Glowtype is provided “as is” and “as available”without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Analysis results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
- Defects will be corrected
You use Glowtype at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of Glowtype
- Our total liability to you, for any claim arising from the app, will not exceed the amount you paid us in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the claim
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud
12. Termination
You can stop using Glowtype anytime by deleting the app. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the app abusively (e.g. attempting to abuse free trials, circumvent payment, or harm the service).
If we terminate your access without cause, we'll refund any unused subscription period via Apple (or, where that's not possible, in good-faith credit).
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless your local consumer law gives you a non-waivable right to a different forum.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced in the app and via the App Store. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
