Glowtype (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Glowtype mobile application, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Glowtype, we collect:
Photos you submit for analysis. When you take a selfie for color analysis, the image is uploaded to our servers for AI processing. Images are processed in memory and deleted immediately after analysis completes. We do not retain, sell, or share your photos.
Quiz responses. The 7 style quiz answers (skin reaction to sun, vein color, hair, eyes, etc.) are stored locally on your device and sent to our servers as part of your analysis request. Quiz responses are anonymized and used only to generate your color profile.
Subscription information.When you subscribe to Glowtype Premium, RevenueCat processes your purchase. We receive your subscription status (active, cancelled, trial) but never your payment card details — those are handled by Apple's StoreKit.
Anonymous analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage events (screens viewed, features used, taps) to improve the app. We do NOT collect your name, email, photo, or any personal identifier in analytics.
Crash reports. We use Sentry to collect anonymized error reports when the app crashes. Reports contain device model, OS version, and stack trace — no personal data.
Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). We do NOT request IDFA access. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate your personal color analysis and seasonal palette
- Process subscription purchases via RevenueCat
- Identify and fix bugs via anonymized Sentry reports
- Improve app features via anonymized PostHog analytics
- Provide customer support when you contact us
We do NOT use your information to train AI models, sell to third parties, or send marketing communications.
3. Third-Party Services
Glowtype uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Apple StoreKit — payments — apple.com/legal/privacy
- RevenueCat — subscription management — revenuecat.com/privacy
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics — posthog.com/privacy
- Sentry — anonymous crash reporting — sentry.io/privacy
- Supabase — backend infrastructure for image processing — supabase.com/privacy
4. Data Retention
- Selfies: deleted immediately after color analysis (typically within 60 seconds of upload)
- Quiz responses: retained anonymously for color profile generation; deleted when you uninstall the app
- Subscription state: retained as long as your subscription is active
- Analytics: retained 90 days, then aggregated
- Crash reports: retained 30 days
5. Your Rights
Depending on your region (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to:
- Request access to data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Request data portability
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

6. Children's Privacy
Glowtype is rated 4+ but is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us so we can delete their data.
7. Subscriptions
Glowtype Premium is billed through your Apple ID. Subscription terms:
- Weekly: auto-renews weekly at the price shown in-app
- Annual: auto-renews annually, includes a 3-day free trial
- Auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends
- Manage and cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- No refunds for partial subscription periods, per Apple's policy
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notification. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
